When I was a kid, it seemed like getting the top hat made a Monopoly game better.
The top hat was, in my mind, the best Monopoly token.
It reminded of Planter's Peanuts, which reminded me of adults. And adults had money.
I mean, what's more grownup and money-rific than a top hat??
To me, the top hat reigned supreme.

The Hat was a pretty good bet. But I always went for the wheelbarrow. The 7 year-old in me probably imagined carting my loads of money in it.
dbr - carting loads of money would be messy, but fun. I imagine a lot of bills fluttering out over the rim.
I actually remember whining pathetically if I couldn't be the Scottie Dog.
We had remnants from two monopoly boards combined, so I would use the two boots and walk them around the board like they were being worn by an otherwise naked invisible person.
sandra - BABY!!!
jon - adorable. that's awesome.
